The restricted free waiting time at the Bristol Airport drop off zone is causing laybys and roads nearby to be filled with cars, the Weston Mercury reports. Drivers using the airport's pick up and drop off area cannot return within 15 minutes once they have used their 10 minute free period, or must pay £4 for waiting longer than 10 minutes.
Airport bosses say the no-return restrictions are to stop cars causing congestion by circulating around the site. However, Councillor Michael Berkley said: ‘The problem is that people are parking around the perimeter of the airport waiting for their 15 minutes to be up, before returning.'
