Passengers were ‘incensed’ at bmibaby's response after one of its plane was grounded at a Spanish airport on Friday, the BBC reports. The flight was due to arrive at East Midlands Airport from Malaga in the afternoon, but was grounded because of a cracked windscreen. Passengers say they were left in the Spanish terminal overnight without any food or drink.
Kate Kemp, from Sherwood, told the news service that passengers were delayed for 14 hours before anyone representing the airline came to speak to them. Penny Bennett, from Derby, travelling with her 4 young children, said the situation was 'a nightmare'.
A bmibaby spokesman said: ‘We flew engineers out to assist with the aircraft and they worked through the night. Passengers were given food and drink vouchers to help them during the delay. Information was provided as soon as updates became available.’
