Work has started on the £1m drop-off area outside the Edinburgh Airport terminal. The very short stay car park, which is being built for 60 cars, is due to be completed in October. Then the airport will introduce a controversial £1 fee for using the car park.
An airport spokesman said: ‘A contractor has been appointed and is currently preparing for the work to have the facility ready for October. This includes placing orders for barrier and payment equipment, new signs and lights.’
