Gatwick gets new coach service

A new coach service linking North Kent with Gatwick has been introduced. Operated by Excel coaches, the luxury service is jointly funded by the airport and supported by Kent County Council and Medway Council.

The service operates every 2 hours departing from Chatham Docks and calling at Hempstead, Maidstone, Sevenoaks and Godstone en route to the airport. The coaches feature comfortable reclining seats, air-conditioning, toilets and on-board Wi-Fi, with prices (Chatham Dockyard) from £15 single and £23 return.

Liz Trevor, the airport's Head of Sustainability said: ‘One of our commitments towards delivering sustainable development at the airport is to provide good public transport links. This will contribute towards achieving our target of 40 percent of passengers using public transport’.
