Guernsey Airport parking charges increased by up to a third

The cost of parking at Guernsey Airport is to increase by up to 33% next month, in a move that will raise an additional £150,000 for the airport [and therefore cost passengers £150,000 more] each year. From 1 July, the fee per day will increase from £8 to £10, a 6 - 12 hour stay will increase from £4 to £5 and a 6 hour stay will increase from £3 - £4, or by a third. Parking for up to an hour will remain free, and the 2 hour fee has been frozen at £3.

Director Colin Le Ray said airport parking is a key revenue stream that helps to keep other airline and passenger charges down. He said: ‘We are keeping the first hour's free parking, which is ideal for people picking up or seeing off friends and family. After that the charges for longer stays still compare well with other airports.'

The changes are as follows:
