Europcar has gone high-tech at Heathrow, using touch-screen technology to help customers to plan their trip. Those arriving at Heathrow Terminal 5 can use a Microsoft Surface, a 30-inch touch-screen built into an interactive table, to get a virtual guide to their location.
The system allows users to draw routes using detailed maps. They can zoom in on locations and mark out a variety of points of interest, such as hotels and theme parks. They can then send the itinerary direct to their smart phone or PDA (or print it !).
Europcar head of ecommerce Danny Higgins said: ‘We are constantly looking for ways of improving our customer experience. This is just the start for Europcar embracing this exciting new technology.’
