A BA pilot who called passengers ‘w*****s’ in a rant on Facebook has been sacked, the Mirror reports. First officer Adam Corfield, 27, launched the tirade after standing in for cabin crew during strikes earlier this year.
He said in the rant that he had come close to punching one business class ‘w****r’ who came ‘marching into the galley shouting into my face he wants a coffee’. He said ‘this f****r in business class nearly got it!! T**t!!!!!’ He added that he had little sympathy for the striking cabin crew, writing: ‘F**k them... at least we'll have jobs at the end of it!’
A BA spokesman told the newspaper that after an investigation into comments posted on Facebook ‘an employee has been dismissed for gross misconduct’. Mr Corfield, of Warrington, Cheshire refused to comment, but a 'friend' told the newspaper he plans to appeal.
Two other pilots, Jonathan Harman and John Lincoln, have also been suspended over alleged rants posted on Facebook.
