BA Chief Executive Willie Walsh said yesterday he is confident that the airline will resolve its long running dispute with cabin crew, the Wall Street Journal reports. He told reporters in Berlin: ‘We have made a significant effort to resolve it and we will continue to do so. But it is not stopping us doing what we need to do to restructure the business and that has clearly been our focus over the last 20 months.’
Unite said it will reopen talks with BA via conciliation service ACAS next week after members rejected the airline's offer to end the dispute. The union also said it would take legal action over the airline's withdrawal of travel benefits for striking cabin crew under European human rights laws.
