Wizz Air has celebrated the fifth anniversary of its flights from Liverpool Airport. The Eastern European budget airline currently links Liverpool with the Polish cities of Gdansk, Katowice and Warsaw, and carried around 200,000 passengers on the routes in 2008 - more than at any other UK airport outside of London.
Wizz launches a new route from Liverpool to Prague in July. Its chief executive Jozsef Varadi said: ‘We have come a long way over 5 years. We are delighted with our relationship with Liverpool Airport, and are looking forward to the launch of another exciting route.’
