London City Airport closed by BA plane problem

London City Airport was closed for almost an hour yesterday after a BA plane flying in from Edinburgh suffered a technical fault as it landed. It was unable to clear the runway as normal, which was closed from 08:30 until 09:25.

An airport spokesman said the aircraft was towed to its stand and passengers disembarked the aircraft as normal. Two arriving CityJet flights and two BA flights were diverted to other airports whilst the runway was closed.
