Passengers at a new Manchester Airport lounge have voted a song by Elbow as their favourite pre-flight track. Since the Escape Lounge opened in terminal one last month, passengers have been asked to name the song that helps get them in the mood for a holiday, with Elbow's hit One Day Like This taking the top spot.
Members of band, which has had 7 top 40 singles in the UK, were presented with a commemorative plaque at the airport lounge before catching a flight to Majorca this week.
A spokesman for the airport said: ‘We have done everything possible to create the perfect escape atmosphere for our passengers in this new lounge, including identifying the most popular song for our passengers to listen to enjoy the start of their journey.’
