A local artist was selected to decorate the £1.7m lounge in Manchester Airport’s Terminal 1. Jane Blease was commissioned by the Escape lounge, with the 27-year-old producing 22 framed wall pieces made from walnut and oak veneer wood burnt and embroidered with coloured threads.
Already used by Manchester United and Manchester City footballers as they used the airport (seperately !) recently, the Escape lounge was Jane’s first big commission. The artist studied at Greenbank High, KGV and Southport College before going to Manchester Metropolitan University for a course in 3D design.
